June seemed to fly by, and July is already here! Fireworks, parades and sparklers are just around the corner as the summer stretches on. July is a HUGE month for events in Union County with the county fair, 4th of July celebrations and Plain City’s Rock the Clock all happening this month! Read on for all the details, plus more fun things to do in Marysville this month.
July 2
Star Wars Party at Marysville Public Library
It’s not May the 4th, but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate Star Wars any day! Kindergarten-Sixth Grade padawans are welcome for a day of Star Wars-themed crafts and games at the library.
July 4
Independence Day Parade in Uptown Marysville
Enjoy the fun and fanfare of the annual 4th of July parade! The parade steps off at 10 a.m. and will wind its way through uptown Marysville. The parade will head east on 5th Street, south on Plum Street, West on 6th Street and end at the court house.
Rock-n-Ribs Festival at Union County Fairgrounds
Kick off your long holiday weekend with this free community festival featuring BBQ, live music, pony rides and more.
Marysville Fireworks Display at Union County Fairgrounds
The Marysville Fireworks show will begin at dusk on July 4. They will be set off from the Union County Fairgrounds, so stake out a spot nearby for a great view. We prefer the Rural King parking lot or the high school stadium.
Plain City Fireworks at Pastime Park
Celebrate the 4th in Plain City with a day-long Independence Day party at Pastime Park, ending with fireworks at 9:45 p.m.
July 5
Steve Metz at Bokes Creek Winery
Head out to Bokes Creek Winery for a night of wine and live music from Steve Metz.
July 12
Chalk the Block at Uptown Friday Night
Participate in this crowd-pleasing art exhibit or just enjoy the works of chalk art at Marysville’s Uptown Friday Night event, featuring live music from SWAGG.
July 20
Open Barn Days at Sunrise Sanctuary
Sunrise Sanctuary is hosting another open barn day to give you the chance to “visit and get to know the animals on a personal level.” Tickets required.
The Peach Truck at Dutch Mill Greenhouse
Dutch Mill Greenhouse once again welcomes The Peach Truck to its grounds. The Peach Truck will be on site selling fresh Georgia peaches from 8-9:30 a.m.

Union County Fair at the Fairgrounds
It’s everyone’s favorite week of the summer: fair week! Try all the rides, snack on some classic fair food and hit up the WCOL Day concert on Wednesday featuring Travis Denning, Dillon Carmichael and special guest North to Nashville.
July 26
All Ohio Balloon Fest 5K at Jim Simmons Trail
Lace up your running shoes and hit the trails for the All Ohio Balloon Fest 5K. All runners will receive a festival t-shirt and a weekend pass to see Aaron Lewis at the festival.
July 27
Rock the Clock 2019 in Plain City
Enjoy a night of live music and great food as Plain City hosts their wildly popular Rock the Clock event on July 27.
