Welcome to the weekend, Marysville! This weekend is jam-packed with things to do — and we’ve got to say, most of these are pretty unique! Live cooking demos, live music, a skate party, kid-friendly yoga, not-so-kid-friendly wine tasting, and more. Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments.
Start your weekend early at Mitchell’s Berries in Plain City. The farm is hosting a wine tasting featuring local wines and food samples. Tickets are required and include 5 tastings of wine, sampling of seasonal local foods and a $5 donation. Tickets at the door are $35, or $30 for Farm Bureau members. Make sure you leave the kids at home for this one as it’s a 21+ event.
The library is hosting a very special event this weekend, perfect for the little animal lover in your life. Kids can bring their stuffed animals to the library for a bedtime story, and then leave them overnight for a stuffed animal sleepover. They can pick up their stuffed friends the next morning, along with a special surprise.
This unique class teaches kids the importance of intentional movement and breathing for relaxation, while giving you a chance to connect with them with a fun, new activity. The class is geared toward children aged 3-6 and includes bonding postures, playful songs, calming breathing techniques and arts and crafts. The class begins this Friday, but will continue on for four weeks. You can register here.
Strap on your skates and grab your most stylish 70’s garb, because its time to rock the rink! All are welcome from 7 – 9 p.m. on Family Skate Night. This event costs $2 for YMCA members and $4 for non-members.
One of our town’s most beloved chefs is doing a live cooking demonstration at the Union County Farmer’s Market this weekend! On Saturday morning, Chef Kibby will be cooking up something delicious using fresh, local ingredients you can find at the market. Come out and get inspired to whip up your own creation: all the ingredients will be right there!
Here’s a unique event, that’s also coupled with a great cause. Union County Guardianship Services is hosting an uptown food crawl to showcase the great eats we have uptown, as well as raise money for their organization. Union County Guardianship Services seeks to provide guardianship services and additional support services for adult wards and their guardians in Union County. Snag tickets to this event for $20 at Richwood Bank, McCarthy & Cox, and Support Services of UCBDD. Participating restaurants include: Old Bag of Nails, Whits, Fifth St Cafe, Ribbon Box and more.
