Union County Neighbor to Neighbor: An Opportunity to Serve the Community
Union County Neighbor to Neighbor (UCN2N) is a grassroots membership organization, part of the “virtual village” national movement to connect those with time, experience and skills to share with those in need of support for the benefit of the community as a whole. The new Union County effort is in the early stages of recruiting volunteers interested in serving their “neighbors”. Service areas include: transportation and errands; minor yard work and home maintenance; troubleshooting computer problems; keeping “in touch”; and safety and security monitoring. Volunteers will have a background check, provided by UCN2N. The organization will be looking for village group members in early 2016 and are currently recruiting committee members interested in finances, outreach, and membership. For more information, please contact UCN2N members thru their website: www.ucn2n.org.
I am proud to be involved with this organization, which is new to our community. Look for it to be up and running in late spring. If you are searching for a way to volunteer and give back to the community, please consider joining us. Lots of different volunteer opportunities available and as much or little time commitment as you are willing to give. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly, or visit the website at the address above.
